The AStA Paderborn is disappointed by the discriminatory statements made by Prof. Dr. Krötz in an email to students. Such statements not only contradict the values of an open, respectful and inclusive university community, but also violate the principle of equal treatment and respectful interaction with one another.
We would like to emphasize that such discriminatory statements must not be tolerated in any way – neither in the academic nor in the social environment. It is crucial that all members of Paderborn University can move in an environment in which they feel safe, respected and valued.
The AStA stands in solidarity with the students affected and is always ready to contribute to finding sustainable solutions in order to develop processes that prevent such incidents. The values of equality and respect should always be upheld at our university.
